Privacy Policy

This is a starting template, not a substitute for legal advice — particularly around GDPR, CCPA, or other regional privacy law compliance if you have users in those jurisdictions. Have a lawyer review this before relying on it for a real product.

What we collect

Your account email and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text), your resume text (and, only if you choose to keep it, the original PDF or Word file you uploaded), search profile preferences, and the applications, interview prep, onboarding plans, and Job Buddy conversations generated through your use of the app.

How it's used

Your resume and job details are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to score matches, tailor resumes, and generate interview and onboarding content. Anthropic's own API terms govern how they handle that data in processing your request. We don't sell your personal data to third parties.

Email notifications

If email notifications are configured, we send you match alerts and generated documents via the email address on your account.

Payments

If you choose to leave a tip, payment is processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details — Stripe handles that directly.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Contact us if you'd like your account and associated data deleted.

Riseply Autofill browser extension

The Riseply Autofill extension for Chrome runs on web pages so it can recognise job postings and application forms. Recognising a page happens inside your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. The extension sends data to Riseply only when you click a button in its sidebar:

Score my resume, Generate cover letter and suggested answers send the text of the job posting you are viewing, and the question you asked about, to Riseply so your resume can be compared with it. Your resume is already stored in your account.
Autofill this page fetches your saved name, email, phone, location and profile links, and the details in your Autofill profile (work history, education, your address, the answers you chose for questions such as work authorization, salary and optional self-identification, and your saved answers) from your account and types them into the form on the page. It only fills answers you chose yourself, never overwrites a field you already filled, and the autofill step does not submit the form. The sidebar has a separate Submit button that clicks the site's own submit button only after you confirm. If the form has a file upload field for a resume, it also attaches your resume: the original PDF or Word file you chose to keep with your resume in Riseply, or a plain PDF made from your resume text if you did not keep one.
When Autofill this page finishes and leaves some questions for you, the extension sends Riseply the text of those questions and the site's address, so you can answer them once in your Autofill profile and Riseply can see which questions come up most often across all users, without names. It never sends what you typed into the form, and it drops question text that looks like personal data such as an email address or a phone number.
ATS resume and applied status: when you press Generate ATS resume, the job text on the page is sent to Riseply, which saves the job in your Riseply list with a resume tailored for it. The extension checks whether the page's link is already in your list, and marks it as applied only when you click to say you applied.
Site logins you save: if you choose to save a username and password for a job site, the extension keeps them in your browser only. They are never sent to Riseply, and they are filled only on that site's own sign-in form when you press a button. A Log in or Next page button in the sidebar clicks the site's own button only after you confirm. Removing the extension, or choosing Forget, deletes them.

The extension stores two things in your browser: a sign-in token, so you stay logged in (logging out removes it), and any site logins you chose to save, as described above. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it for anything other than the feature you clicked. We do not read or keep your browsing history.

Job Buddy conversations

Messages you send to Job Buddy are stored so the conversation has continuity, and are visible only to you. They're used to generate responses via the Claude API and aren't used for any purpose beyond providing the feature to you.

Career Coach notes

After a learning session, the Career Coach saves a few short notes about how you learn (what clicked, what is still shaky, one piece of homework) so the next session can pick up where you stopped. The notes are visible only to you under What your coach remembers on the Career Coach page, where you can delete any note, clear them all, or turn remembering off. We tell the coach not to save personal details, and interview and negotiation role-plays never use the notes.

Voice

Reading replies aloud and dictating your answers use your browser's built-in speech features. Riseply receives only the text, never audio. Depending on your browser, its maker may process your speech to turn it into text. If you switch on Let me interrupt by voice, the microphone listens only while the coach is speaking, and you can switch it off at any time.

Saved study notes

Notes you save to your study folders stay in your account and are not sent to Claude on their own. Only when you start a session with Warm up with a quiz on your saved notes are up to six of the notes you picked sent to Claude, for that session, so it can quiz you on them.
